MV Agusta F4: The most beautiful bike by MV Agusta

The MV Agusta F4 could possibly be the world’s most beautiful motorcycle. It’s a combination of carbon-fibre, fibre-glass, thermoplastic, aluminium and chromium-molybdenum. It was designed by Massimo Tamburini, and beneath that gorgeous fairing lies an in-line four-cylinder engine. The F4 is one of those bikes you feel like parking in your living room and just staring at all day long.

Engine

Packed neatly within the frame is a 998cc, four-cylinder engine that produces 192.30bhp and 110.80Nm of torque. The motor is liquid-cooled and comes paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The MV Agusta F4 is BSIV-compliant.

Specifications

Italians are renowned for designing some of the most beautiful cars and motorcycles in the world. And the MV Agusta F4 is one of them. It all starts with the arrow-headed design of the front-end with a projector headlamp and LED DRLs below. It also gets a beautiful visor. The side fairing has a lovely flow to it, while the tank is nothing but a beautiful sculpture. You can see a part of the trellis frame as well. Even the split seat look great, while the tail section features a twin LED tail lamp. What’s absolutely outstanding are those four exhausts running below the tail section. The pillion’s seat is body-coloured and could be mistaken for a seat cowl. The 6-spoke alloy wheels look gorgeous. Also notice the rear-view mirrors that get indicators integrated in them. The instrument cluster is a full LCD unit that shows information including an engine temperature gauge, ABS indicator, gear shift indicator, tachometer, traction control indicator, twin trip meters, speedometer, riding modes and an odometer. The finish of the switchgear is top-notch. In terms of dimensions, the F4 is 2115mm in length, 750mm in width and 1004mm in height. The F4 gets a quick-shifter that allows for very quick pick up in pace for the motorcycle. There are eight levels of traction control that keep the front wheel glued to the road. The rev limiter limits itself and the engine to 14000RPM. In normal riding mode, opening the throttle results in the front-end lifting a bit. Acceleration is instantaneous. In third gear, the bike even manages to cross 200kph. Power delivery is mind-boggling, but the vibrations aren’t contained too well. But the in-line four sounds great. At 191kgs, the bike’s weight is manageable. The ground clearance, on the other hand, is 115mm, while the bike has a wheelbase of 1430mm and a seat height of 830mm.

Mileage

The MV Agusta F4 has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres. In terms of mileage, the bike is capable of returning 15kmpl by ARAI, in BSIV guise.

Mechanical Parts

Unfortunately, this is not a bike you’re going to feel comfortable sitting on, due the race-spec design. The rear-set foot pegs and clip-on handlebars make for a very aggressive seating posture. But yes, the bike is still road-legal. Short riders should be comfortable on the bike, while tall riders might find it a squeeze. Due to the weight of the bike, parking it and moving through traffic is a bane. It’s an easy bike to handle because of the riding posture, but long journeys get uncomfortable. The riding dynamics are fantastic, thanks to the Ohlins suspension. The suspension feel very firm, resulting in perfect feedback to the rider. The brakes provide great stopping power, and the ABS inspires confidence. The bike loves cornering, and in a straight line, it is very agile. At the front, the bike rides on telescopic hydraulic forks, while the rear gets progressive Ohlins TTX with electronically controlled compression and rebound . As far as the chassis is concerned, it is built around a steel tubular trellis frame. The F4 runs on 120/70 ZR-17 tyres at the front and 200/55 ZR-17 tyres at the rear. Retardation duties are taken care of by disc brakes at the front and at the rear.

Features

The bike comes loaded with a slew of features like traction control, ABS, alloy wheels, LCD instrument cluster, rear-view mirror-mounted indicators, pass light switch, projector headlamp, LED tail lamp and a digital trip meter.

Colours

The MV Agusta F4 is available in two shades like White and Red. Red is certainly a colour that is bound to be a favourite among young riders.
